
Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Program
As the only Parkinson's program in West Michigan, our research partnership with Van Andel Research Institute and Michigan State University, offers surgical insertion and programming of Deep Brain Stimulation technology. Our program is one of a few of its kind in the United States. Through collaborative arrangements with area partners, patients can receive a variety of services in one clinic location during a single visit.

DaTscan
The DaTscan is a new scanning procedure that helps confirm a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. Saint Mary’s Health Care is one of three hospitals in the Midwest that can administer the test, which was approved the Federal Drug Administration in January 2011.

Deep Brain Stimulation
Deep Brain Stimulation is only offered in West Michigan at The Hauenstein Neuroscience Center. The procedure can help block the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease, which are caused by cell death in the brain.
